Hendrickson (Pflugerville, Texas) received a huge boost from its defense against
Round Rock (Texas), as the unit scored six in defeating
Round Rock (Texas), 21-17.
After trailing 7-0 at the half, the Dragons went ahead on a
Collin Hinson touchdown pass to
Deandre Story with 10:00 to go in the fourth. Hendrickson grabbed hold of the lead when
Samaje Perine ran for a touchdown with 4:00 left in the fourth quarter, and never relinquished it.
HHS saw its 7-point halftime lead fall to five entering the fourth.
The Pflugerville school didn't take the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when Perine ran for a touchdown.
The Hawks went into the matchup giving up only 12.3 points per game.
The loss comes after Round Rock defeated McNeil 34-16 last week. The loss broke Round Rock's two-game winning streak.
Hendrickson (9-0) goes up against McNeil in a 5A Region II District 16 game matchup next week, while Round Rock (4-4) locks horns with Cedar Ridge also in a 5A Region II District 16 game.
