After a string of five wins, the Frontier Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were outmatched by River on the road and fell 48-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Frontier has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Frontier lost, one person who can't be blamed is Morgan Haught. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Haught is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Frontier struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Frontier's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for River, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
Frontier will be playing at home against the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Catholic Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for River, they will head out on the road to challenge the Seminoles at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monroe Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
