The Syracuse Rockets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Lincoln Christian 48-42. Syracuse has struggled against Lincoln Christian recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Syracuse lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cy Petersen. Despite the final result, he rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Petersen was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
Lincoln Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Torell out in front who rushed for 169 yards and four touchdowns. Asa Wegrzyn was another key contributor, rushing for 143 yards and four touchdowns.
Syracuse's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lincoln Christian, the victory was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
