The Nederland Panthers lost against the Campion Academy Cougars back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Nederland took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Campion Academy.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Dillon, who scored 11 points. Rick Fortunato was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Nederland's defeat was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3. As for Campion Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nederland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cripple Creek-Victor at 2:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Campion Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Union Colony Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 15, 2024.
