The Gateway Charter Griffins came into Thursday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Ida Baker with a sharp 62-37 win on Thursday. The score was close at the half, but Gateway Charter pulled away in the second half with 43 points.
Ellie Morin had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Jazmyne Trubina was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Gateway Charter's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. As for Ida Baker, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway Charter will take on the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ida Baker, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
