After flying high against the Sparrows Point Pointers on Wednesday, the Owings Mills Golden Eagles came back down to earth. Owings Mills took a hard 59-43 fall against Chesapeake on Friday. Owings Mills lost against Chesapeake in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 66-56 score last time.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcus Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Nelson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ta'lin Spriggs, who scored 11 points.
Owings Mills' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Chesapeake, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owings Mills will take on Lansdowne at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chesapeake, they will head out on the road to face off against Randallstown at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
