In what's become a running theme this season, the Hamilton Bulldogs gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 61-36 margin over Frost. The victory was familiar territory for Hamilton who now have seven in a row.
Leading Hamilton to victory were Brooklyn Bragg and Kelton Wright. Bragg dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Wright dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wright has scored at least a third of Hamilton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Massingill, who scored seven points along with eight steals.
Despite the defeat, Frost saw an underclassman step up: Brenda Manrriquez scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. Manrriquez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brynna Banks, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Frost smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Hamilton pushed their record up to 17-9 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Frost, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton will take on Itasca at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Itasca will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1084th, while Hamilton is ranked 327th). As for Frost, they will be playing at home against Valley Mills at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
