Basketball Recap: Hilton Head Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Jake Wood and Ethan Foster

Hilton Head Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heathwood Hall Episcopal Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Highlanders are ranked 52nd).

Ethan Foster and Jake Wood certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Foster went 6 for 8 en route to 20 points, while Wood went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points. Those 20 points gave Foster a new career-high.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamauri Hunter out in front who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen McCleary, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Hilton Head Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, their record now sits at 10-4.

Hilton Head Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 70-64 loss against Laurence Manning Academy on the 14th. As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-22 win against Cardinal Newman on the 14th.
