The Richmond Heights Spartans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 64-27 victory over Hawken. Considering Richmond Heights has won six games by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Despite the loss, Hawken saw an underclassman step up: Julia Scales scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Scales scored a full 40.7% of Hawken's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Cami Courtad, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Richmond Heights' victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.8 points. As for Hawken, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond Heights will take on Mansfield Senior at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mansfield Senior will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Hawken, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
