North Sunflower Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 67-13 loss at the hands of the DeSoto Thunderbirds. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Thunderbirds recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Carsyn Gore was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten steals for DeSoto. That's the most steals Gore has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Kylee Jo Holder, who posted 11 points and three steals.
The win (which was DeSoto's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
North Sunflower Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for DeSoto, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the DeSoto Thunderbirds challenge the Marvell Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
