The Permian Panthers lost against the Frenship Tigers back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Permian fell just short of Frenship by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Permian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Frenship is ranked 17th).
Permian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-1. As for Frenship, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Permian will take on San Angelo Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Angelo Central is coming into the game with three straight wins on the road, so Permian is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Frenship, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Odessa at 5:30 p.m. Odessa's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
