Basketball Recap: James F. Byrnes Beats Greenville for Their Third Straight Victory

James F. Byrnes won against Daniel on Saturday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Sunday. The Rebels walked away with a 54-42 victory over the Greenville Red Raiders. The win was just business as usual for the Rebels, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

James F. Byrnes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaida Johnson led the charge by shooting 50% from the field to rack up 13 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellison Silver, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards.

James F. Byrnes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

James F. Byrnes' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Greenville, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

James F. Byrnes and Greenville will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Rebels see the court they'll take on Greer at 6:00 p.m. on December 5. As for Greenville, their break will end when they face Powdersville at 6:00 p.m. on December 5.
