Basketball Game Preview: Unity Christian Academy Phoenix vs. Taft Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Unity Christian Academy Phoenix will jump right back in to play the Taft Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Unity Christian Academy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Montini Catholic just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos.

Despite their defeat, Unity Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mason O'Neal, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. O'Neal's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Robert Allen was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Taft posted their closest win since January 10th on Monday. They skirted past Montini Catholic 45-42. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Taft's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Unity Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
