The Hale Ray Noises will venture away from home to take on the East Hampton Bellringers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hale Ray's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so East Hampton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Monday just wasn't the day for Hale Ray's offense. They came up short against North Branford on Monday, falling 19-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Noises, who until this matchup were averaging 4.09 runs allowed.
Hale Ray saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Kalisz, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, East Hampton was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against Westbrook as they made off with a 21-10 victory. The Bellringers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 11 runs or more this season.
Allison Jacobsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and five unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, East Hampton got a massive performance out of Emily Jovel, who went 5-for-6 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. With that strong performance, Jovel is now averaging an impressive 3.2 RBI per game. Another player making a difference was Neha Sidana, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
East Hampton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The win made it two in a row for East Hampton and bumps their season record up to 4-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.5 runs over those games. As for Hale Ray, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.
East Hampton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hale Ray has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for East Hampton, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Hale Ray's sizable advantage in that area, the Bellringers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hale Ray took their win against East Hampton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Noises repeat their success, or do the Bellringers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
