 Lily Adames made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  five innings while giving up  five earned runs off   five  hits. Those  hits were  her first of the season. She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having also posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played.
 In other batting news,  Bryer Cook was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs.  Mallory Gonzalez was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
 Abernathy  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Petersburg only posted  an  OBP of  .273.
The  victory  got Abernathy back to even at 3-3. As for Petersburg, their loss  ended  a  five-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 0-3.
 Looking ahead, Abernathy will face off against Denver City at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Petersburg, they will challenge Sudan at 9:20  a.m.  on Thursday.
