The McQueen Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 53-44 defeat to Damonte Ranch. McQueen lost against Damonte Ranch in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 27-25 score last time.
McQueen's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Audrey Baumgardner, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Hilson, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

McQueen has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Damonte Ranch, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-8.
McQueen will head out on the road to face off against Spanish Springs at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Spanish Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday. As for Damonte Ranch, they will be playing at home against Douglas at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
