It was a good run, but the Dodge County Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sumter County. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Dodge County came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Sumter County is ranked 345th).
Despite the loss, Dodge County still got an impressive performance from Jaedon Mcclendon, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of My'Sean Williams, who scored 11 points.
Dodge County's loss dropped their record down to 19-3. As for Sumter County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-15.
Dodge County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Berrien at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Dodge County's favor as the team sits on 25 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Berrien has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road. As for Sumter County, they will face off against Worth County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
