The Siegel Stars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They suffered a tough 59-33 defeat at the hands of Blackman. While losing is never fun, Siegel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Blackman is ranked 33rd).
Blackman was led to victory by Kaelyn Flowers and Lyriq Mastin. Flowers scored 13 points along with four steals, while Mastin scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Flowers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Amirah Herring was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Siegel has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 15 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Blackman, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Siegel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Blackman also has no future games currently scheduled.
