The Heritage Panthers won the last time they faced the Satellite Scorpions, and things went their way on Friday too. Heritage walked away with a 64-53 win over Satellite. The victory was all the more spectacular given Heritage's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 405th, while Satellite is ranked 174th).
Heritage got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Conrad Bryant out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Bryant is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. David Simpkins was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with five assists.
Heritage's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Satellite, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Space Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Satellite won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cocoa Beach at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Cocoa Beach is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.2 points per game.
