After low-scoring totals in their previous two contest, Burlington brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They snuck past the Boise City Wildcats with a 19-18 win on Friday. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 8.4 runs per game.
Austynn Taylor was excellent, going 3-for-4 while posting 4 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 walk. The four RBIs were her most since at least August 22nd last year, when she brought in four vs. Boise City. Sayler Wall was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances while posting 3 RBIs, 1 stolen base, and 1 run.
Burlington took the easy way to first and finished the game with 14 walks. That's the best they've done in that category since at least August 22, 2025.
On Boise City's side, they got a massive performance out of Nicole Murillo, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances while posting 4 runs, 2 stolen bases, and 2 RBIs. The team also got some help from Alani Hernandez, who went 3-for-4 while logging 3 RBIs, 3 runs, and 1 double.
Burlington now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Boise City, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.
Burlington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-2 defeat against Weld Central on the 4th. As for Boise City, they have also already played their next contest, a 17-1 loss against Forge Christian on the 4th.
