North Marion gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Belleview Rattlers, sneaking past 3-2. For the Colts, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Rattlers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.
North Marion had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-10.
Jacelyn Carson paced North Marion's offense, picking up eight kills. Carson got some help from Allison Riddle and her 19 assists. Jaden Burkey controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
North Marion wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Crystal River on the 21st. As for Belleview, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Vanguard on the 21st.
