Mohave gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Everything went their way against the Paradise Honors Panthers as they made off with a 41-15 win. For the Thunderbirds, this counts as revenge for the 34-24 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.
Joe Yoney went supernova, rushing for 95 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, while also throwing for 187 yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Huerta-Perez, who rushed for 132 yards and one TD while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mohave was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 260 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 190 rushing yards in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.
