Sullivan has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Pana Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, Sullivan was not quite Arcola's equal in the second half on Saturday. Sullivan took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arcola.
Meanwhile, Pana's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their third straight loss. They took a hard 48-29 fall against Carlinville. While losing is never fun, Pana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 501st, while Carlinville is ranked 185th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Lilly Rochkes, who scored five points. Delaney Hackler was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Sullivan's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Pana, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 15 of their last 17 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Sullivan, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-44 loss to Pana when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Sullivan, Anna Beyers (who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
