The New Prairie Cougars lost against the Elkhart Lions back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. New Prairie received a tough blow as they fell 45-26 to the Lions. New Prairie has struggled against the Lions recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
New Prairie's loss came despite strong showings from Brody Wiginton and Trenton Klute. Wiginton scored ten points, while Klute scored four points.
New Prairie has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Elkhart, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Prairie will take on the Bearcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wheeler has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Elkhart, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colonials at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
