The Maryville Red Rebels will head out to face off against the Jefferson County Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Maryville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Jefferson County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Maryville took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Sequoyah. The Red Rebels haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Isabella Saunders made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Sadie Johnson looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, Reilly Saunders was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Allie Watson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Jefferson County was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. They skirted past Bentworth 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.
Jefferson County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Watson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Maryville pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Jefferson County, their record is now 7-5.
Jefferson County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Maryville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341.
