The Grandview Wolves had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 62-50 to Doherty. Grandview lost against Doherty in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 71-59 score last time.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was George Durbin, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals. Trevor Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Doherty got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Mack out in front who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was James Pulliam, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds.
Grandview's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Doherty, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Grandview will take on Chatfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Doherty, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Legend at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Legend focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
