Sacred Heart is 8-2 against St. Patrick since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Sacred Heart Crusaders will face off against the St. Patrick Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sacred Heart had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 4-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sacred Heart.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick entered their tilt with Loyd Star with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went St. Patrick's way against Loyd Star on Tuesday as St. Patrick made off with a 4-0 victory. St. Patrick's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.
Sacred Heart is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-2 record this season. As for St. Patrick, the win got them back to even at 11-11-1.
Everything went Sacred Heart's way against St. Patrick in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Sacred Heart made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sacred Heart since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
