Franklin waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Kenosha Bradford Red Devils with a sharp 15-5 win. The Sabers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Ben Hefter and Sam Ortiz made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Hefter pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ortiz struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Hefter got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Ortiz went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Prescott Sanford, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dominick Walters, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kenosha Bradford only posted an OBP of .345.

Franklin pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Kenosha Bradford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Looking ahead, Franklin will challenge Kaukauna at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sabers 2.9, the Galloping Ghosts 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Kenosha Bradford, they will square off against Heritage Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
