The Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers will head out on the road to face off against the Fort Meade Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will be strutting in after a win while Fort Meade will be coming in after a defeat.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Orlando Science 65-43 back in December of 2024. The victory was some much needed relief for the Explorers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Williamson out in front who went 5 for 6 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Williamson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Babers, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Fort Meade opened the new year with a less-than-successful 50-42 loss to McKeel Academy. The Miners haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will need focus on slowing down Mekhi Berrien, one of several Fort Meade players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Nasier Berrien, who had 11 points and four steals.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Fort Meade, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ridgeview Global Studies Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fort Meade struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
