The Brewbaker Tech Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Lanier Poets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though LAMP scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Brewbaker Tech still came out on top. Brewbaker Tech escaped with a win against LAMP by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57.
Johnathan Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 20 rebounds. Those 20 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Tyler Dixon, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Lanier really took it to Southside for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-39 win on the road. That 67-39 margin sets a new team best for Lanier this season.
Brewbaker Tech's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Lanier, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.
Brewbaker Tech didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Lanier in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brewbaker Tech since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
