Classical Academy has gone 9-1 against Guajome Park Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Caimans will take on the Frogs at 3:00 p.m. Classical Academy has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Classical Academy was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene last Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison, sneaking past 15-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Caimans have posted since May 14, 2024.
Sophie Subka was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalia Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Guajome Park Academy). They blew past Hoover 20-9 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Angela Zenteno and Allison Leon did most of the damage at the plate: Zenteno went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI and three runs, while Leon went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Leon has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Karmen Simons also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
The win was the third in a row for Guajome Park Academy, bringing their record up to 4-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Classical Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8.
