Moody had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 48-point drubbing they dealt Springville on Friday. The Blue Devils blew past the Tigers, posting a 55-7 win. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Jake Lowery was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 267 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (159.2). Another player making a difference was Kevin James, who rushed for 110 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

Moody was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Moody's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB nine times. Leading the way was Baroc Willis with two sacks. Willis is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. Another thorn in Springville's side was Joshua Willet, who picked up a sack and made six total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Moody's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Springville, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Moody will take on Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Golden Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Springville, they will square off against Center Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
