Softball Recap: Lancaster Wins Going Away Against South Pointe

Lancaster won the last time they faced South Pointe and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Stallions. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Samaria Jackson was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasyah Stover, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Lancaster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Pointe only posted an OBP of .333.

The win made it two in a row for Lancaster and bumps their season record up to 9-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for South Pointe, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lancaster will welcome Blythewood at 7:15 p.m. on the 28th. The Bengals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bruins' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Pointe, they will square off against Northwestern at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
