Yarmouth lost against Cape Elizabeth back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Thursday. The Clippers fell just short of the Capers by a score of  3-2.  Yarmouth started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 18-25, 25-23, 25-23,  17-15.
 Grace Keaney paced Yarmouth's offense, picking up 15 kills. Keaney got some help from  Sutton Yi and her 29 assists.  Ella Cameron controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.
This is the second loss in a row for Yarmouth and  nudges their season record down to 2-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-0 Greely (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 83.3% over those games). As for Cape Elizabeth, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Yarmouth is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Washington Academy  at 2:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile, Cape Elizabeth will  take on  rival Greely  at 6:30  p.m.  on Saturday.
