The Thunderbird Titans will face off against the Bagdad Sultans at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Thunderbird took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Dysart get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. Considering the Titans have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Addison Hodge made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Brooke Casey was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Lily Rakich was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Thunderbird always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .793. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dysart only posted an OBP of .133.
Meanwhile, Bagdad got the win against Salome on Tuesday by a conclusive 22-0.
Like Thunderbird, Bagdad also got a great game from a two-way player: Tatum Jeans. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. Jeans was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Jadyn Rodriguez was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Anna Williams, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Thunderbird pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bagdad, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Thunderbird came up short against Bagdad when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 5-1. Can Thunderbird avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
