The Mt. Enterprise Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the West Hardin Oilers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mt. Enterprise's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
On Friday, Mt. Enterprise humbled Alto with a 64-15 victory. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 935th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Enterprise's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joel Otwell led the charge by rushing for 150 yards and two TDs. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Otwell a new career-high. Kaegan Ash was in the mix as well, providing Mt. Enterprise with three scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mt. Enterprise was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 379 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards in 17 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Another reason for the win was Mt. Enterprise's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece ( Rj Roberts, Kaden Bryant, Ryan Mckelvey, and Case Pieper also recorded half a sack). Mt. Enterprise received some extra help from Pieper, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last matchup, West Hardin made sure to put some points up on the board against Colmesneil on Friday. The Oilers won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Bulldogs 42-41. The Oilers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
West Hardin's win came from a few key players Mt. Enterprise will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Marcus Hashaw, who threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 75 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because West Hardin is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise. Slade Schroder also helped out as he racked up 103 receiving yards.
Mt. Enterprise pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points over those games. As for West Hardin, their record is now 4-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Mt. Enterprise has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 517.2 total yards per game. It's a different story for West Hardin, though, as they've been averaging only 234.4 total yards. Will Mt. Enterprise be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Oilers flip the script?
Everything came up roses for Mt. Enterprise against West Hardin in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, as the team secured a 64-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
