Last Thursday, SouthLake Christian Academy lost to Concord Academy on the road by a decisive 72-55 margin. SouthLake Christian Academy has struggled against Concord Academy recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Thales Academy Apex's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 75-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill.
Despite their loss, Thales Academy Apex saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Justin Brown, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Brown hasn't dropped below two blocks for 11 straight games. Luke Railo was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with six assists.
SouthLake Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-15. As for Thales Academy Apex, their loss dropped their record down to 11-23.
