Central City Value's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Angel Marcial, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Leonel Chavez who scored three points along with ten rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 69.2% of Central City Value's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Downtown Magnets can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They breezed by Animo Bunche at home to the tune of 72-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Downtown Magnets has posted since December 13, 2023.
Downtown Magnets got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Patrick Lei out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Lei hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Brayane Kuaka Luyeye was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 22 rebounds.
Central City Value has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Downtown Magnets, they pushed their record up to 12-9 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Central City Value have been dynamite from deep this season, having only nailed 30.1% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Downtown Magnets struggles in that department as they've nailed 39.1% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Central City Value took a serious blow against Downtown Magnets when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 96-38. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Central City Value was down 48-22.
