The Cocalico Eagles waltzed into Friday's matchup with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Conestoga Valley 42-10 at home. Cocalico might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight games by 20 points or more this season.
Cocalico had a senior duo take command as Sam Steffey rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns and Aaryn Longenecker rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Longenecker was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards.
Cocalico pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.5 points per game. As for Conestoga Valley, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.
Cocalico will head out on the road to face off against Cedar Cliff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Cliff has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 181 points over their last four matches. Conestoga Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
