Basketball Recap: Parkwood Piles Up the Points Against Central Academy

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Parkwood's strategy against Central Academy on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Parkwood Wolf Pack blew the Central Academy Cougars out of the water with a 70-13 final score. That looming 70-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wolf Pack yet this season.

Leading Parkwood to victory were Madison Owen and Brinley Parker. Owen made all 8 shots she took to post 19 points and four steals, while Parker posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Those 19 points gave Owen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooke Fowler, who scored eight points.

Parkwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Academy only posted two assists.

Parkwood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 28.5% in those games and 22.3% outside of them. As for Central Academy, their loss was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.

Parkwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-34 win against Anson on the 31st. Central Academy has also already played their next game (against Piedmont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
