The Mt. Carmel Sundevils lost against the Del Norte Nighthawks back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Mt. Carmel took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Del Norte. Mt. Carmel has struggled against Del Norte recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Mt. Carmel still got an impressive performance from Gianni Bernabe, who scored 24 points along with 3 steals. Bernabe scored a full 55.8% of Mt. Carmel's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Raymond Hourani was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 17 rebounds.
Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Del Norte, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel will take on Poway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Del Norte, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Westview at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Westview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three contests.
