The Cimarron-Memorial Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Chaparral Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cimarron-Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully the Cowboys like a good challenge.
Even though Del Sol scored an imposing 73 points on Thursday, Cimarron-Memorial still came out on top. Cimarron-Memorial took their matchup against the Dragons 85-73. Given Cimarron-Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Dragons are ranked 81st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Chaparral, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to the Longhorns on Thursday. Chaparral has not had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Cimarron-Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Chaparral, they dropped their record down to 8-16 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Cimarron-Memorial beat the Cowboys 59-48 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cimarron-Memorial since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
