Victoria West is a perfect 4-0 against Lamar Consolidated since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Victoria West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Victoria West's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Fort Bend Marshall as they made off with an 18-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Aiden Deleon and Jay Guerrero were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Deleon struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Guerrero struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Deleon has posted since back in March. At bat, Deleon went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Guerrero fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Miles Chandler and Isaac Sanchez did most of the damage at the plate: Chandler went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Sanchez went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Sanchez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Michalk, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Victoria West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Bend Marshall only posted an OBP of .263.
Meanwhile, Lamar Consolidated was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Victoria East, falling 11-1.
Lamar Consolidated saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Victoria West is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Lamar Consolidated, their loss dropped their record down to 6-19.
Victoria West was able to grind out a solid victory over Lamar Consolidated in their previous meeting back in April of 2018, winning 6-1. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
