Baseball Game Preview: Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles vs. John Paul II Golden Warrriors

For the second straight game, Hilton Head Christian Academy will face off against John Paul II. The Eagles will take on the Golden Warrriors at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hilton Head Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Hilton Head Christian Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt John Paul II on Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Golden Warrriors 10-4. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Hayden Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Slaide Burd was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Roman Colella was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Hilton Head Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as John Paul II only posted an OBP of .214.

Hilton Head Christian Academy pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.
