Letcher County Central will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Wolfe County extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Wolves put the hurt on Jackson City with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Jayden Molands was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Kris Evans was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Wolfe County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson City only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Letcher County Central came up short against Hazard on Monday and fell 10-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this contest were averaging 3.75 runs allowed.
Letcher County Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaydon Wright, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Letcher County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wolfe County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wolfe County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Letcher County Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wolfe County beat Letcher County Central 6-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
