The Hardin Northern Polar Bears will head out on the road to take on the New Bremen Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hardin Northern is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
Hardin Northern scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They secured a 57-53 W over Crestline. The win was just what Hardin Northern needed coming off of a 71-49 loss in their prior match.
Hardin Northern got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alaina Thomas out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Thomas continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Heidi Trachsel, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, New Bremen had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 42-22 margin over New Knoxville.
Hardin Northern's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15. New Bremen's record is now 9-10.
Hardin Northern came up short against the Cardinals in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 52-40. Can Hardin Northern avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
