Lennox Academy won the last time they faced Compton Early College and things went their way  on Thursday too. The Panthers blew past the Rising Phoenix 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matches by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
 Valeria Lopez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Lopez was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Stacey Torres was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with three  doubles, one  run,  and one  RBI. Those  three  doubles gave  her a new career-high.  Michel Estrada was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Lennox Academy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  batting average total in three consecutive  games.
Lennox Academy is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record  this season. As for Compton Early College, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 11-3.
 Coming up, Lennox Academy is taking a road trip to  challenge Hawthorne  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Compton Early College, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dominguez  at 3:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Rising Phoenix are facing the Dons at the right time seeing as the Dons are stuck on  an  eight-game losing streak.
