South Broward is 0-3 against South Plantation since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Paladins at 3:45 p.m. South Broward is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, South Broward got the win against McArthur by a conclusive 16-1. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly 15 runs.
Mayah Torres 2026 was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Romero 2027, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Torres 2026 wasn't the only one making solid contact: South Broward kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The Bulldogs are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Plantation, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in March. They had just enough and edged out Archbishop McCarthy 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Paladins have posted since March 14, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Amelia Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Victoria Vazquez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
South Broward is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for South Plantation, their record is now 4-10.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Broward hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like South Plantation struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South Broward couldn't quite get it done against South Plantation in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
