The Northview Vikings had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-13 victory over Los Altos at home. The result was nothing new for Northview, who have now won four contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Keanu Tauvao, who rushed for 128 yards on only 14 carries, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Barraza, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Northview's win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.2 points per game. As for Los Altos, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northview will take on Diamond Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Diamond Ranch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Northview is ranked 116th). As for Los Altos, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against San Dimas at 7:00 p.m.
