It was a good run, but the King City Wildkats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 71-48 defeat at the hands of Worth County. While losing is never fun, King City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Worth County is ranked 136th).
Worth County was led to victory by Caleb New and Tyler New. New scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds, while New dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which New has scored at least 25% of Worth County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Ruby, who scored 9 points.
The last time King City won on the road was back back in November. Having now lost four straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Worth County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
King City will be playing at home against Stanberry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stanberry is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Worth County, they will head out on the road to face off against Albany at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Albany and Worth County are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
